The Talent Acquisition Specialist makes an impact by -

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of human resources duties with a focus on recruiting for operations, onboarding and new hire orientation.

• Be the primary source of knowledge related to Operations staffing; successfully fulfill and maintain staffing needs for the Operations team and supporting other departments, as needed.

• Establish staffing requirements by regularly meeting with hiring managers to discuss, track, and report on current openings and project upcoming needs; conduct needs analysis, studying organization plans and objectives.

• Pre-qualify candidates by reviewing resumes and applications, conduct phone-screens, coordinate on-site interviews, conduct on-site tours; accurately record actions in recruiting database throughout the entire recruiting lifecycle from phone-screen to hire.

• Assist with onboarding process for temporary assignments and direct hires. Perform all steps of the onboarding process, such as, drug testing, submitting background checks, scheduling post offer screenings and employee set up in HRIS systems.

• Support orientation by overseeing timeclock biometric scanning for new hires, I-9 support, etc.

• Assist with the purchase order process for the HR Department.

• Manage and maintain relationships with outside temporary staffing agencies to request temporary staffing support as needed, effectively communicate company’s needs and expectations.

• Source talent through other avenues including community services, colleges, social media, job fairs, online job boards; create content, manage, and report usage for social media platforms.

• Work closely with Operational and HR team members to achieve overall recruiting strategy.

• Understand current legislation and improve organizational attractiveness by recommending new policies, procedures and practices.

• Present job offers and compensation practices including wage surveys; emphasizing benefits and perks.

• Demonstrate the ability to engage work in department and cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements that provide value to the customer.

• Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles.

• Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FSMA, and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) guidelines as well as all safety regulations.

• Be responsible for Turkey Hill’s Safe Quality Foods (SQF) food safety and quality standards.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in HR, preferrable in recruiting/staffing
• Understanding of state and federal employment laws and legal hiring practices
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to organize and prioritize complex projects
• Previous experience with HRIS systems, preferably UKG is strongly desired
• Experience with Microsoft 365 Office, especially Excel, is required

• The employee is required to talk and/or hear in an office setting (noise level is low) and manufacturing setting where noise levels can be high (PPE required).
• The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office or manufacturing environment from 4-8+ hours.
• The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks.
• Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks.
• The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.
• Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required.
• Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds and/or push/pull 20 pounds on a regular or occasional basis.
• Must have ability to travel to clients, customers, or other work sites by a variety of transportation methods.
