Talent Acquisition Specialist (Part-Time) 
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) 
Location: Primarily Remote (Periodic onsite meetings and store visits as needed) 
Schedule: Approximately 20–25 hours per week, with the opportunity to expand as the company grows. 

Position Summary:
Captain Jay's is seeking a highly organized, relationship-driven Talent Acquisition Partner to lead our leadership recruitment efforts while helping build the foundation of a scalable talent acquisition and people infrastructure. 

This is more than a recruiting position. It is an opportunity to help build the people systems that will support the company's long-term growth and operational excellence. 

Primary Responsibilities:
Leadership Recruitment:
  • Lead the full-cycle recruitment process for leadership positions, including Shift Managers, General Managers, District Managers, corporate support roles, and future executive-level positions. 
  • Source qualified candidates using Indeed, LinkedIn, social media, networking, referrals, and other recruiting channels. 
  • Conduct initial phone and virtual interviews. 
  • Assess candidates for leadership capability, professionalism, communication skills, and cultural fit. 
  • Coordinate Discovery Days, interviews, and hiring activities with District Managers and executive leadership. 
  • Conduct professional reference checks. 
  • Coordinate background screening. 
  • Prepare and coordinate employment offers. 
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the hiring process to provide an exceptional candidate experience. 
  • Build and maintain an active pipeline of leadership candidates for current and future openings. 

Recruiting Operations:
  • Develop standardized recruiting processes and documentation. 
  • Create interview guides and candidate evaluation tools. 
  • Maintain recruiting databases and candidate records. 
  • Develop hiring scorecards and recruiting dashboards. 
  • Standardize candidate communications throughout the hiring process. 
  • Ensure recruiting activities are organized, timely, and professionally executed. 

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of recruiting, talent acquisition, Human Resources, or related experience. 
  • Demonstrated success recruiting leadership or professional-level positions. 
  • Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity. 
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment. 

Preferred:
  • Experience recruiting for multi-unit operations, retail, restaurant, hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, or similar industries. 
  • HR Business Partner experience. 
  • Experience developing HR policies and procedures. 
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) or similar recruiting databases. 
  • Experience supporting compensation, talent management, or succession planning initiatives.
