Description
Jackson State Broadcast Network (The Sipp) is accepting applications for its Talent and Media Content Producer position. The Talent and Media Content Producer hosts and leads JSBNs student-driven podcast and supports multimedia content production and publishing across JSBN platforms. This role also assists with select television and radio productions to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen content delivery for departmental and university initiatives.
Examples of Duties
Host and lead the student-driven JSBN podcast, including planning run-of-show, interviewing guests, and maintaining a consistent release schedule.
Support and guide student participants in on-air performance and basic production practices.
Gather, produce, edit (basic), and publish content for ISBN digital platforms in coordination with the Multimedia Content and Creative Services Manager.
Draft supporting content such as show notes, titles, captions, and post copy as needed.
Assist with television and radio productions (pre-production support, studio/field assistance, and post-production tasks as assigned).
Maintain organized media files, project documentation, and content archives.
Ensure content aligns with ISBN and university brand, editorial, and compliance standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Demonstrated hosting/interviewing experience (podcast, radio, broadcast, or comparable). Basic knowledge of audio/video production workflows and editing.
Strong communication, organization, and deadline management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and campus partners.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience producing student-driven media content.
Proficiency with common editing tools (e.g., Adobe Audition/Premiere, Pro Tools, or similar). Familiarity with social/digital publishing tools and best practices; understanding of basic performance metrics.

Working Conditions / Requirements
Some nights/weekends may be required based on recording and production schedules.
Ability to work in studio and field environments and handle basic production equipment.
