Proper routine maintenance is required with a pre-trip and post-trip by the driver to ensure that the equipment meets the minimum requirements of all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
Tanker drivers are required to wash their equipment (tractor and trailer) at least once a week, as well as maintain a clean working environment on the inside of the equipment.
All drivers are required to attend a monthly safety meeting to keep up with best safe practices.
All drivers are expected to report any accidents, incidents, or injuries immediately or within a reasonable time that safety of the employee permits to their supervisor no matter how minor the event is.
Must be able to follow a dispatch
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience in a tanker trailer or bulk tanker is preferable
Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels
Must have the ability of working in areas with heights up to 9 feet
Must be able to follow dispatches and have a general sense of cardinal directions
Must have an acceptable driving record that meets Burnco’s minimum qualifications
Must have the capability to carry out his/her obligation as driver efficiently and correctly.
Must be focused, confident and observant.
Have sufficient knowledge of traffic laws
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have a verifiable class A CDL for 2 years with tractor/trailer experience
High School diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (IF REQUIRED)
Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged sitting, balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, push and pull objects.
Demonstrate neck range of motion within normal limits (flexion and extension 60°, lateral flexion 40° and rotation 70°).
Lift objects of various dimensions and weights.
Ability to operate hand controls with both hands.
Ability to operate foot pedals with both feet.
Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching.
Ability to use vibration tools.
Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environment temperatures and weather.
Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels.
Ability to tolerate working at heights up to 9 feet.
