Description

The Tape & Reel Operator is responsible for operating tape and reel equipment used to package small electronic components for production and shipment. This position requires excellent attention to detail, good hand dexterity, and the ability to work with very small components while maintaining quality and production standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Operate tape and reel machinery to package electronic components according to established specifications.
  • Load and unload components, reels, carriers, and packaging materials.
  • Inspect components and finished reels for defects, damage, or improper placement.
  • Verify component orientation, quantity, labeling, and packaging requirements.
  • Monitor equipment during operation and make minor adjustments as needed.
  • Perform visual inspections using magnification equipment when required.
  • Complete production paperwork, labels, and documentation accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company procedures.
  • Follow established safety, quality, ESD, and production procedures.
  • Meet established production goals while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Report equipment issues, quality concerns, or material discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, assembly, packaging, or machine operation experience preferred.
  • Experience working with small electronic components is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and basic production documentation.
  • Comfortable working with magnification equipment.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and perform repetitive hand movements.
  • Must be dependable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
