CLASSIFICATION TITLE Targeted Academic Support Interventionist Part-Time Department: Elementary Pay Grade: Hourly FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Supervisor: Principal GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
The individual in this position is responsible for assisting students with disabilities to provide targeted evidence-based instruction and intervention in reading and math. This position supports student progress toward IEP goals, strengthens foundational academic skills, and collaborates with special education and general education staff to ensure students access the curriculum and demonstrate measurable growth.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
• Delivers structured explicit and systematic instruction in foundational skills of reading to include phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary comprehension, and written response. • Delivers structured explicit and systematic instruction in foundational skills of mathematics to include number sense, computation, problem solving, math vocabulary, and reasoning. • Supports students in developing executive functioning skills including organization, attention, stamina, and task completion. • Collaborates with assigned teaching area to coordinate instructional efforts. • Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids such as hands-on manipulatives, reading materials, and writing materials. • Presents subject matter to students utilizing a variety of methods and techniques for guided reading and guided writing. • Attends training workshops.

• Performs other related work as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Associates Degree is required. Bachelors Degree with previous teaching experience preferred. Or an equivalent level of education and experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS REQUIRED
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of and ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and math. • Knowledge of the practices, methods, and techniques used in classroom teaching. • Skill in effective communication both verbally and in writing. • Skill in the use of computers for data entry, word processing, and/or accounting purposes. • Ability to present information clearly and concisely in verbal and written form. • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other District employees and the general public. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction. • Extending: Pushing or Pulling Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward. • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. • Handling: Picking, holding, or otherwise working primarily with the whole hand. • Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. • Manual Dexterity: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand, as in handling. • Repetitive Motion: Substantial movements, motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
