The team you will be a part of

This role is a vital part of the Procurement Finance team, working directly with Global Procurement, Customs, Supply Chain, and other cross functional partners to proactively assess and own the tariff financial management.

This role in summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive individual to lead our new Finance Tariff Center of Excellence (CoE). You will safeguard financial controls and ensure the accuracy of Balance Sheet reconciliations and Management Review Controls by shifting away from offline workarounds and un-isolated tariff variances. In this role, you will enhance our strategic forecasting, model potential tariff changes, and implement the necessary systems to manage incoming tariff volatility and protect our controls and compliance framework.

This role is fully onsite, Monday through Friday, at our Riverview Campus in Benton Harbor, Michigan. A comprehensive relocation package is available for eligible candidates. #LI-DD1

Your responsibilities will include

  • Build Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the newly dedicated Finance Tariff Center of Excellence (CoE) to transition the company from a reactive state to proactive margin protection

  • Build a robust month-end process ensuring general ledger (GL) accuracy and proper inventory valuation.

  • Take over complex accrual true-ups, monitor month-end IT jobs for completeness, and clean up open disconnects across BUs (US Core, P&A, Gladiator, etc.), Mexico plants, and FTZs

  • Overhaul the FP&A (Forecasting & Analysis) outlook process to explicitly detail incurred costs, absorption, and expected changes.

  • Model dynamic rate shifts, and conduct landed cost modeling and variance analysis

  • Partner with the Customs team (Trade/Tax pillar) on Duty Drawback programs and HTS code verification to minimize duties, maximize financial recovery, and ensure accurate P-code allocation

  • Partner with GSS and Engineering to identify additional tariff mitigation opportunities (design changes, supplier footprint moves, etc)

  • Manage a dedicated Tariff Analyst and establish a formal reporting structure

  • Act as the liaison with accounting, internal audit and external audit regarding all tariff accounting and reporting matters

  • Ad Hoc Financial Analysis: Willingness to jump in and support the GSS Finance team as needed

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor''s or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant professional work experience in corporate finance, accounting, or related fields

Preferred skills and experiences

  • MBA or professional financial certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, FRM)
  • High proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and data extraction/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Determined, perseverant mindset with a track record of achieving aspirational targets despite obstacles
  • Insightful and receptive to feedback, demonstrating flexibility to learn, grow, and anticipate issues quickly
  • Ability to effectively work cross-regionally and cross-culturally in a highly matrixed organization
