    Description

    A client of ours is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with deep knowledge of QuickBooks and a solid understanding of tax law to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting functions, ensure tax compliance, and provide strategic financial insights that support sound decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online/Desktop
    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
    • Prepare and file tax returns (Sales, Payroll, Income, etc.)
    • Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger entries
    • Identify opportunities for tax savings and ensure timely filings
    • Support external CPA or auditors with documentation and financial reports
    • Stay current on changes in accounting standards and tax legislation

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
    • Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop
    • Strong understanding of U.S. tax law, including business deductions and tax reporting
    • Knowledge of payroll tax filings and sales/use tax reporting
    • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks and deadlines

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience working with multiple clients or in a firm setting
    • Familiarity with other accounting tools (e.g., ProSeries)
    • Knowledge of industry-specific tax considerations (e.g., real estate, professional services, retail)
