As a Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the organization complies with tax laws while minimizing tax risk and cost. Their role blends technical tax knowledge with reporting, analysis, and advisory support.

Responsibilities:

·       Prepare, review, and file Personal Property Tax returns across multiple jurisdictions in compliance with applicable regulations.

·       Oversee Business License registrations, renewals, and ongoing compliance obligations.

·       Prepare and timely file Sales and Use Tax returns, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

·       Ensure proper Use Tax treatment of invoices for KDS and its subsidiaries in accordance with state and local tax laws.

·       Collaborate with billing, accounts receivable, and operational teams to investigate and resolve invoicing discrepancies.

·       Assist in evaluating the taxability of new products, services, and business initiatives.

·       Prepare income tax workpapers and returns using CorpTax software.

·       Provide support during indirect tax audits, including Sales & Use Tax and Personal Property Tax audits.

·       Identify process improvement opportunities and support the enhancement of indirect tax processes, internal controls, and documentation.

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

·       Minimum of 2–4 years of tax experience, with a focus on indirect taxes including Sales & Use Tax and Personal Property Tax, as well as exposure to income tax.

·       Solid understanding of state and local tax laws and regulatory requirements.

·       Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with accounting systems and ERP platforms.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·       CPA, EA, CMI, or active progress toward a professional tax certification.

·       Experience supporting multi‑state and multi‑entity tax structures.

·       Hands-on experience with indirect tax software solutions such as Vertex, Avalara, or similar tools.

·       Prior experience in a large corporate tax department environment.

 

The typical pay range for this role is $64,000 -$81,000. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position may include a discretionary bonus based on performance.
