Tax & Accounting Associate

Full-Time Seasonal | On-Site | December–April | $26+/hour DOE

Klabo, Brown & Co., LLC is looking for a Tax & Accounting Associate to join our Aberdeen team during the upcoming tax season. This is a full-time seasonal position running from December through April, with the opportunity to return for future tax seasons.

Our tax season brings a wide variety of individual and business clients through the office. In this role, you'll help prepare accurate tax returns, work with client financial information, communicate with clients, and support the accounting team as deadlines approach.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable working with numbers, pays close attention to detail, and can manage multiple assignments while providing professional service to clients.

What You'll Do

• Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individual and business clients.
• Review client financial information and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Work with clients by phone, email, and in person to obtain information and address routine questions.
• Organize and maintain accurate client records and tax workpapers.
• Use QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, UltraTax, and other business software as part of your daily work.
• Manage multiple client assignments and keep work moving toward established deadlines.
• Identify questions or missing information and follow up appropriately with clients or team members.
• Assist with special projects and other tax or accounting assignments as needed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality when working with client financial information.
• Work independently while collaborating with the rest of the accounting team.

What We're Looking For

• Three or more years of tax preparation experience.
• Experience working with individual and/or business income tax returns.
• Strong understanding of tax preparation and accounting principles.
• UltraTax experience is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and other business software.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tax-season deadlines.
• Professional, dependable approach to working with clients and coworkers.
