A highly respected and well-established public accounting firm in Albuquerque is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to lead its tax department and play a key role in the firm's continued growth.

What You'll Do

As Senior Tax Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage the firm's tax department.
  • Review and prepare complex federal and state tax returns for individuals and a variety of business entities.
  • Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients while maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop members of the tax team.
  • Manage workflow, deadlines, and quality control during busy tax seasons.
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, and developing future tax professionals.
  • Identify opportunities to thoughtfully grow the firm's tax practice.
  • Ensure exceptional technical quality and outstanding client service.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Active CPA license required.
  • Eight or more years of recent public accounting tax experience.
  • Extensive experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for individuals and business entities.
  • Experience leading or mentoring tax professionals.
  • Strong technical tax knowledge and sound professional judgment.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
  • A collaborative leadership style and desire to build a high-performing team.

An existing book of business is welcomed but not required. The priority is providing exceptional service to an established client base while supporting thoughtful, sustainable growth.

Compensation

$160,000–$180,000+ DOE

Performance-based bonus opportunities and long-term partnership potential are available for the right candidate.
