Tax Director

CFS is partnering with a global manufacturing and technology organization to identify a Tax Director for its North American tax function. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity offering a hybrid work schedule based in Northborough, MA 01532, conveniently located next to Marlborough.

Salary: $185,000-$215,000

The Tax Director will lead tax accounting, compliance, reporting, and internal controls initiatives while partnering closely with executive leadership and finance teams. This role is ideal for a strategic tax professional with strong public company experience and deep technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Lead all aspects of income tax accounting and reporting, including quarterly and annual tax provisions.
• 
  
• Oversee federal, state, local, and international tax compliance processes.
• 
  
• Manage and review ASC 740 calculations, tax provision documentation, and related disclosures.
• 
  
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls and maintain a strong internal control environment.
• 
  
• Partner with finance and accounting leadership on tax planning initiatives and business transactions.
• 
  
• Support audits, tax examinations, and interactions with external auditors.
• 
  
• Monitor tax law changes and assess impacts on the organization.
• 
  
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to the tax team.
• 
  

Required Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MST preferred.
• 
  
• 10+ years of progressive corporate tax experience.
• 
  
• Strong public company tax experience.
• 
  
• Must have extensive ASC 740 expertise.
• 
  
• Must have SOX compliance and internal controls experience.
• 
  
• Experience managing tax provisions, reporting, and compliance functions.
• 
  
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
•

• Experience within manufacturing, technology, or multinational organizations.

• Exposure to international tax matters.
