Tax Manager (CPA)

About the Opportunity

A progressive, mid-size public accounting and integrated wealth management firm in Dallas is expanding and seeking an experienced Tax Manager to support continued organic growth. This role offers the opportunity to work with a sophisticated client base that includes high-net-worth individuals and families, closely held businesses, and healthcare professionals, while playing a meaningful leadership role within the tax practice.

 

The firm provides a comprehensive service platform encompassing tax, accounting, advisory, business consulting, investment management, financial planning, family office, and retirement plan services. This position is well-suited for a CPA who enjoys client interaction, complex tax work, and mentoring future leaders.

 

What You Will Do

  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships while delivering exceptional service
  • Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns, including 1065, 1120S, 1040, and 1041
  • Develop tax estimates, projections, and planning strategies tailored to client goals
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to complex tax issues, transactions, and structures
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail throughout all phases of tax preparation and review
  • Lead and supervise engagements and special projects with minimal oversight
  • Mentor, coach, and develop staff through training, review, and technical guidance
  • Contribute to practice development initiatives, including identifying opportunities to expand services with existing clients

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Active CPA license required
  • Recent public accounting experience required
  • 5-7 years of progressive tax experience, including preparation and review
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Confident professional presence with proven leadership and mentoring ability
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with tax technology and tools, including Excel and QuickBooks
