Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Supervises tax engagements and special assignments under established firm policies
- Coordinates engagement phases including planning, budgeting, monitoring performance against budget, and reviewing work papers and financial statements for accuracy
- Provides supervision and on the job training to staff, offering guidance and constructive feedback
- Develops and owns the assignment work plan, ensuring tasks are completed
- Manages staff day to day activities including budgeting
- Reviews and manages tax return preparation with an emphasis on high net worth individual and pass through entity taxation
- Builds and maintains client relationships, managing the full engagement process
- Develops tax planning strategies and stays current on tax law and regulatory changes
- Researches tax law and advises on technical tax questions
- Communicates engagement progress, financial information, and business concerns with clients
- Identifies client needs, cross selling opportunities, and new service opportunities
- Supports partners on retention, staffing, and utilization initiatives
- Builds a professional network to support business development and firm marketing
Qualifications
- CPA license
- Minimum experience managing large, complex tax engagements, with a focus on high net worth individual and pass through entity taxation
- Strong background in tax return review, tax research, and staying current on regulatory changes
- Proven ability to supervise and mentor staff at multiple levels while managing client relationships
