Tax Manager

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Tax Manager, for a hybrid opportunity, for a well-established organization in Richmond, Virginia.

The Tax Manager will oversee tax filings, reporting, planning, compliance, and related corporate tax objectives. This role is responsible for managing federal and state tax requirements, supporting annual income tax reporting, coordinating with external CPA partners, and leading a small tax team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and file regular excise, sales and use, property tax, and unclaimed property filings.
• Manage annual ASC 740 income tax reporting, including income tax footnotes and disclosures for audited consolidated financial statements.
• Partner with external CPA firms to prepare quarterly estimated federal and state tax payments.
• Review federal and state income tax returns and coordinate with outside tax advisors.
• Lead tax audits and serve as a point of contact with taxing authorities.
• Monitor federal and state tax law developments and communicate relevant updates.
• Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external service providers to align tax strategy with business priorities.
• Coach, develop, and manage workload for a small tax team.
• Develop and improve policies, procedures, and automation opportunities for efficient tax reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a major or emphasis in Accounting or Taxation required.
• CPA or MST required.
• Minimum of five years of relevant tax experience.
• Experience with multi-state excise tax filings, corporate tax compliance, and income tax provision.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax laws.
• Experience with tax research, documentation, and tax audits.
• Strong people management, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Schedule & Compensation

• Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm
• Hybrid schedule with three days in office each week
• Salary range: $115,000 to $130,000, based on education and experience
• Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off and more

Pay Details: $115,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
