We are hiring a full-time Tax Manager in Houston. The Tax Manager will play a crucial role within our Americas region, focusing on tax compliance, tax provisioning, quarterly installments, internal and external audit of tax support, tender support to the business and ad hoc tax advisory for America region. There will also be a level of International tax support for the business. This position requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in tax, compliance, and tendering processes. The ideal candidate will ensure the company's adherence to tax reporting obligations and manage internal and external auditors as well as tax filings effectively for the region liaising with the regional business line managers, controllers and FDs as required.
Duties
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company
- Prepare and review tax provisions and deferred tax calculations in line with guidance and approval from the Head of Tax
- Ensure timely submission of returns
- Prepare quarterly tax payment estimates
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure compliance
- Advise on transfer pricing requirements and support preparation of files where necessary
- Manage any enquiries from authorities
- Provide support to Head of Tax on any advisory projects for the Americas region
- Provide input to tender process for the business involving cross border operations
- Support business needs with day-to-day ad-hoc tax queries
- Provide support Internationally with ad-hoc tax queries a few being Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Suriname, Guyana
- Assist with developing, recommending and implementing efficient and effective methods to minimize current and future taxes
- Lead and manage advisors
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in tax compliance
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Monitor and manage tax-related risks and/or process deficiencies to mitigate any exposure
- Develop strategies to mitigate financial risks associated with tax compliance and audits
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Masters in Accountancy or Taxation, preferred
- 4-6 years of experience in tax compliance
