Position Summary
The Tax Manager will oversee corporate tax compliance, tax reporting, audit support, and tax planning activities for a growing aerospace and defense manufacturing organization. This role will manage federal, state, and local tax compliance while supporting financial reporting, tax provisions, and strategic tax initiatives.

The Tax Manager will partner with accounting, finance, external advisors, and auditors to ensure accurate tax filings, proper documentation, and compliance with changing tax regulations. This position requires strong corporate tax experience, attention to detail, leadership ability, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a complex business environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage federal, state, and local tax compliance activities.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of tax filings, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Support tax planning initiatives and compliance strategies.
  • Research and interpret changing federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Partner with external tax advisors, auditors, and internal finance leadership.
  • Prepare tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and related reporting support.
  • Assist with audit responses, documentation requests, and tax authority inquiries.
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance leadership on financial reporting and compliance matters.
  • Identify opportunities for tax efficiencies, process improvements, and stronger reporting controls.
  • Support strategic financial and operational initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain organized tax records and ensure accuracy of tax-related financial data.
  • Manage multiple tax deadlines, reporting requirements, and compliance priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of corporate tax experience.
  • Manufacturing or aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
  • Experience managing tax compliance, audits, and related documentation.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing tax provisions and deferred tax calculations.
  • ERP and advanced Excel experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with internal teams, external advisors, and auditors.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and compliance requirements.
  • Leadership ability with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Background

  • Aerospace, defense, manufacturing, precision manufacturing, or complex engineered products.
  • Corporate tax experience within a public or privately held manufacturing company.
  • Experience working with external tax firms, auditors, and senior finance leadership.
  • Exposure to multi-state tax compliance, tax planning, audit defense, and financial reporting.
