Tax Manager

Locally owned CPA firm with offices in Lincoln and York, Nebraska. The firm works primarily with individuals, small businesses, and fiduciaries and provides tax preparation, accounting, payroll, bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, audit representation, and QuickBooks services.

Hybrid – Lincoln, NE
Primarily in-office, but they are open to 1–2 remote days per week.
This is considered a Tax Manager-level opportunity, but the individual will not be responsible for directly managing employees. The focus is on technical tax work, preparation, review, and independently handling a tax workload.
The schedule is a BIG selling point:

• Busy season: approximately 55–60 hours/week
• Busy season primarily runs February 1–April 15
• Outside of tax season: approximately 30–32 hours/week
• Office closes at NOON on Fridays May 1–December 31
• They generally try to keep employees around 2,080 hours annually

What they want:

• Tax Manager / Experienced Tax Professional
• Strong public accounting tax experience
• CPA preferred
• Open to a CPA candidate actively working toward licensure
• Open to an EA
• Strong experience in both preparation AND review
• 1040 – Individuals
• 1041 – Trusts/Fiduciaries
• 1065 – Partnerships
• 1120 – C-Corps
• 1120S – S-Corps
• Some monthly accounting and payroll experience
• Experience working with individuals and small businesses
• Does not need heavy people-management experience
• Someone technically strong who can come in above Staff level and independently handle the work

Compensation:
$80K–$120K DOE
Flexible depending on experience, credentials, and overall fit.
