Core Responsibilities
Strategic Tax Advisory & Portfolio Management
- Direct and oversee a diverse portfolio of complex tax engagements for corporate, partnership, and high-net-worth individual clients from inception to completion.
- Provide high-level tax planning, restructuring, and consulting services, helping clients navigate shifting legislative landscapes and optimize their tax positions.
- Assume final review responsibilities for intricate tax filings, ensuring all deliverables meet the firm’s rigorous quality standards.
- Drive engagement profitability by effectively managing project economics, budgets, realization rates, and client billing cycles.
Business Development & Practice Growth
- Actively participate in the firm's growth by cultivating new business opportunities and expanding relationships with existing accounts.
- Collaborate across different service lines (e.g., audit, advisory, HR solutions) to cross-sell holistic business solutions to clients.
- Represent the firm in the local market through networking events, industry conferences, and thought leadership initiatives.
Departmental Leadership & Talent Development
- Act as a key leader within the tax department, contributing to strategic planning, operational improvements, and workflow optimization.
- Directly manage, coach, and evaluate supervisors, senior associates, and staff, playing a critical role in their performance management and career trajectory.
- Lead internal training sessions and technical updates to ensure the tax department remains at the forefront of industry changes.
Minimum Requirements
- Active CPA license is strictly required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree in Taxation (MTax) or Accounting is highly preferred.
- 6+ years of comprehensive professional experience in public accounting, with a demonstrated track record of managing complex tax engagements.
- Proven ability to manage high-level client relationships and drive business development initiatives.
- Deep expertise in federal and state tax compliance, tax planning, and strategic advisory.
- Strong leadership acumen with experience mentoring diverse teams and managing departmental workflows.
- Outstanding executive-level communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
