Job Details
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Manage tax engagements by coordinating staffing, scheduling, and workflow.
Review and prepare complex federal, state, and local tax returns.
Review quarterly and annual tax projections.
Lead tax compliance and tax planning initiatives.
Monitor client budgets, realization, and production goals.
Develop and strengthen client relationships while serving as a trusted advisor.
Evaluate and improve tax department processes and best practices.
Maintain quality control procedures throughout the tax process.
Train, mentor, and develop staff accountants and senior accountants.
Create and deliver internal tax and CPE training programs.
Assist with business development efforts and proposals for prospective clients.
Support special tax projects and technical research initiatives.
Qualifications Needed
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
Active CPA License required.
Master's Degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred.
Minimum 5+ years of recent public accounting / CPA firm tax experience.
Strong background preparing and reviewing individual, partnership, corporate, and S-Corporation tax returns.
Experience with tax planning, compliance, and projections.
Strong background managing multiple client engagements simultaneously.
Experience supervising, training, and mentoring tax staff.
Proficiency with ProSystem fx Tax required.
Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, and CCH Engagement preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
Proven ability to manage client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
Demonstrated success improving processes, workflows, and operational efficiencies.
