Role Overview
A full-time, on-site Tax Manager is required for a position in Ramsey, New Jersey. This role focuses on managing client engagements, providing high-quality tax compliance and advisory services, and mentoring staff. Primary Responsibilities
Engagement Management: Oversee and review tax returns, projections, and workpapers for businesses, partnerships, corporations, and individuals to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
Advisory & Planning: Deliver strategic tax planning and advisory services for closely held businesses and high-net-worth clients.
Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and develop senior and staff accountants while managing project workflows, budgets, and deadlines.
Technical Research: Investigate and resolve complex federal, state, and multi-state tax issues.
Operational Improvement: Partner with leadership to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and implement tax technology.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 4–6 years of progressive public accounting experience with a strong taxation focus, including return review and staff supervision.
Credentials: Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent status preferred (or actively pursuing licensure).
Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of federal and state tax compliance and proficiency with industry-standard accounting software.
Core Competencies: Strong communication, project management, organization, and attention to detail.
Salary and Benefits
Compensation: Annual salary of $85,000–$100,000, plus performance bonus opportunities.
