Liguori Accounting | Remote

About Us

Liguori Accounting is a fast-growing CPA firm specializing in accounting, tax, and CFO advisory services for medical aesthetics practices and other service-based small businesses.

We are building a firm that delivers exceptional client service without requiring excessive tax-season hours or partner dependence. Our focus is on leveraging technology, improving processes, and developing a high-performing team that allows clients and employees to succeed.

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead tax production, review, workflow management, and technical tax support across the firm.

Position Summary

The Tax Manager will serve as the leader of our tax delivery process. This individual will oversee tax workflow from organizer through filing, perform review of returns prepared by staff, mentor team members, and act as a technical resource for complex tax matters.

This role is designed to become the primary owner of tax operations, allowing the firm owner to focus on complex consulting, advanced tax planning, business development, and firm leadership.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, process-oriented, highly organized, and enjoys improving systems and developing people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement solutions.

The goal of this role is to create smoother deadlines, fewer rework cycles, and better visibility into tax production.

Technical Tax Leadership

  • Research federal and state tax issues.
  • Support multi-state, basis, depreciation, entity structure, and other complex matters.
  • Assist with tax projections and planning strategies.
  • Serve as a go-to resource for tax questions from staff and managers.
  • Stay current on tax law changes and communicate impacts to the team.

Team Development

  • Train and mentor tax staff.
  • Develop standardized tax processes and documentation.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
  • Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Client Service

  • Participate in tax planning and review meetings for key clients.
  • Communicate complex tax concepts in a practical manner.
  • Maintain strong client relationships while delivering a high-touch service experience.

Success in This Role

Within the first year, success looks like:

  • Owner review time is significantly reduced.
  • The majority of tax returns move through the firm without partner intervention.
  • Tax workflow is visible and proactively managed.
  • Fewer deadline emergencies and last-minute surprises.
  • Higher return quality and fewer review notes.
  • Staff feel supported and have a clear technical resource.
  • Tax season workloads are more predictable and sustainable.
