Tax Accountant/Preparer

LHH recruitment solutions is hiring a Tax Preparer/ Accountant in the Boca Raton, FL area. Our client is searching for a Tax Preparer with a strong background in Business and Individual returns. This role is working fully in office and does offer 401k and PTO benefits.

You are a great fit if:

• CPA highly preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with UltraTax is preferred, though experience with comparable professional tax software is acceptable.
• 5 -10 plus years' experience in public accounting

Responsibilities to include:

• Compute taxes owed or refunds due using specialized software, calculators, and tax tables.
• Interview clients to obtain necessary information on taxable income, expenses, and allowances.
• Consult tax law handbooks, bulletins, and regulations to determine proper procedures for atypical returns.
• Check tax forms for errors in arithmetic, data entry, or procedure.
• Provide guidance to clients on future tax planning to minimize liability.
