Tax Senior - Public Accounting
Summary
In this Tax Senior role, you will work closely with clients to understand their businesses and support their success through high-quality tax services. Responsibilities include tax compliance, projections, responding to tax notices, assisting with special projects, and building strong client relationships through consistent communication.
Key Responsibilities
Adhere to professional ethics standards, including those established by the AICPA
Maintain strict client confidentiality
Deliver high-quality client service, demonstrating a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
Assist with handling audits, inquiries, and notices from federal and state agencies
Maintain regular client communication, providing updates and addressing questions
Gather and analyze client information necessary for tax return preparation and filings
Meet annual and interim billable hour targets (e.g., 1,700 annually, busy season goals)
Identify and evaluate tax issues, collaborating with leadership and subject matter experts to resolve them
Prepare and review tax accrual workpapers
Prepare more complex tax returns and address review comments thoroughly
Stay current on tax law developments and assess applicability to client situations
Support internal training initiatives and mentor junior staff
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA license strongly preferred (or CPA eligible with 150 credit hours completed)
2-5 years of public accounting experience preferred
Working knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
