Salary: $80,000 - $105,000 per year

Job DetailsKey Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and review a wide range of tax returns, including individual, trust, partnership, not for profit, S corp, C corp, and foreign filings
- Assist with tax planning projects and analyze tax costs and benefits for proposed business transactions
- Take ownership of tax engagements, serving as the go to resource for staff and interns
- Review team members' work and provide feedback to ensure documentation is ready for manager approval
- Delegate work appropriately, explain the purpose behind tasks, and manage both staff and client expectations
- Provide training and development opportunities for junior staff and interns
- Participate in transfer pricing work and other specialized projects
- Research technical tax issues using regulatory sources and electronic databases, then share findings with the team
- Prepare and review initial drafts of tax notices and letters
- Ensure returns comply with governing documents, along with federal and state tax law
- Use the firm's tax software to move data from trial balance through financial statements and into the final return
- Support client management and practice development efforts throughout the engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related tax experience
- Experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns across multiple entity types, including individual, trust, partnership, and corporate
- Strong background in tax research, using regulatory and source materials to work through technical issues
- Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and client relationships at once
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing junior staff
Preferred:
- Current CPA license, or active progress toward one
- Bilingual in Japanese, given the firm's international client base
