Senior Tax Accountant
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join a growing accounting firm. This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing individual and corporate tax filings. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical tax background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and nonprofit organizations.
Manage multiple client engagements while ensuring timely completion of tax returns and compliance filings.
Perform tax planning and consulting services for business and individual clients.
Research complex tax issues and prepare written tax positions and recommendations.
Analyze client financial information to identify tax-saving opportunities and potential risks.
Assist clients with tax notices, audits, and inquiries from federal, state, and local taxing authorities.
Review work prepared by staff accountants and provide coaching, training, and technical guidance.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
Stay current on federal, state, and local tax laws and evaluate their impact on clients.
Collaborate with partners, managers, and other team members on tax strategies and special projects.
Participate in year-round tax planning engagements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or EA certification preferred.
3+ years of public accounting and/or corporate tax experience.
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
Experience preparing and reviewing corporate, partnership, or individual tax returns.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax preparation software.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience
Public accounting background.
Tax software experience
