Senior Tax Accountant

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join a growing accounting firm. This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing individual and corporate tax filings. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical tax background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and nonprofit organizations.

  • Manage multiple client engagements while ensuring timely completion of tax returns and compliance filings.

  • Perform tax planning and consulting services for business and individual clients.

  • Research complex tax issues and prepare written tax positions and recommendations.

  • Analyze client financial information to identify tax-saving opportunities and potential risks.

  • Assist clients with tax notices, audits, and inquiries from federal, state, and local taxing authorities.

  • Review work prepared by staff accountants and provide coaching, training, and technical guidance.

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.

  • Stay current on federal, state, and local tax laws and evaluate their impact on clients.

  • Collaborate with partners, managers, and other team members on tax strategies and special projects.

  • Participate in year-round tax planning engagements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA or EA certification preferred.

  • 3+ years of public accounting and/or corporate tax experience.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.

  • Experience preparing and reviewing corporate, partnership, or individual tax returns.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax preparation software.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience

  • Public accounting background.

  • Tax software experience
