We are looking for a dynamic and diligent Permanent Tax Senior to join our thriving Accounting + Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various tax-related functions, including sales and use tax, property tax returns, tax provisions, and ensuring compliance with governmental regulations. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment where you can contribute significantly to the company's success.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Tax Senior, you will be responsible for:
1. Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, including sales and use tax, property tax returns, and other company tax obligations.
2. Ensuring accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings.
3. Developing and implementing strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
4. Managing audits by tax authorities and providing recommendations for handling tax disputes.
5. Conducting research and planning to optimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with all tax regulations.
6. Managing the year-end accrual process and preparing accurate tax provision schedules.
7. Keeping up-to-date with changes in tax law and interpreting their implications for the company.
8. Collaborating with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
9. Assisting in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting tax expenses.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Tax Senior role should possess:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax role, preferably within a Big 4 public accounting firm.
2. CPA certification is required.
3. Advanced knowledge of sales tax, sales & use tax, Use Tax, property tax returns, Tax Provision, and governmental regulations.
4. Experience with year-end accrual and general accruals.
5. Strong understanding of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
9. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
10. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
