Our client is a boutique public accounting firm located in the northern Chicago suburbs, providing comprehensive tax and accounting services to individuals and closely held businesses throughout the Chicago area. Their practice includes individual, partnership, S-corporation, and trust taxation, along with bookkeeping and sales tax services for many of their existing clients.

Job Details

We are seeking a Tax Staff Accountant to join our growing team in Park Ridge, Illinois. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in public accounting while receiving hands-on mentorship, broad tax exposure, and opportunities for professional growth.

The successful candidate will primarily prepare tax returns while working closely with experienced managers and partners in a collaborative, in-office environment.

Responsibilities
Prepare individual, partnership, S-corporation, and trust tax returns
Assist with tax planning and compliance engagements
Organize and analyze client financial information
Communicate with senior staff regarding client questions and tax matters
Assist with bookkeeping and Sales & Use Tax filings for select tax clients
Continue developing technical tax knowledge through hands-on training and mentorship
Qualifications
Public accounting or professional tax preparation experience preferred
Experience preparing tax returns
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Eagerness to learn and grow within public accounting
CPA or EA designation is not required
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $60,000-$80,000
Hourly position with overtime paid at 1.5x during busy season
Employer-paid health insurance
$300 HSA contribution
