Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. One year of skilled experience in carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, plastering, building maintenance or refrigeration/air-conditioning maintenance is required. Must possess a Driver license.

"The Maintenance Specialist performs a wide range of building maintenance and repair activities in support of multiple Miami-Dade County Tax Collector facilities throughout the County. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance of building systems; basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, ceiling, flooring, door and hardware repairs; furniture installation and reconfiguration; equipment assembly; and general facility upkeep.
The selected candidate will respond to maintenance service requests, assist with office renovations and facility improvement projects, and ensure work is completed in compliance with applicable safety standards. The position requires frequent travel to various Tax Collector locations and the ability to lift and move materials and equipment as needed.
Work Schedule Requirements
This position is required to work overtime during weekdays, evenings, and weekends as directed by the supervisor or management to support emergency repairs, facility maintenance, office relocations, special projects, and operational needs. The selected candidate must be available to respond to urgent maintenance requests outside of normal business hours when required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience performing commercial building maintenance in occupied office environments.
Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and general building systems.
Experience using work order management systems and maintaining maintenance records.
Ability to troubleshoot facility issues, prioritize multiple assignments, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience installing office furniture, shelving, signage, and related fixtures.
Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
Possession of a valid Florida Drivers License
