The Community Health Associate for The Coordinating Council will support community health initiatives by assisting with health promotion, community needs assessment activities, resource development, and public outreach. This position provides hands-on experience in public health planning, health communications, and community engagement while contributing to projects that improve the health and well-being of Calhoun County residents. This position is remote and can be hybrid.
Essential Duties and Functions:
Update community resource directories using Canva to align with the organization's new resource structure.
Develop professional PowerPoint presentations for the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) and assist in presenting information to community partners and stakeholders.
Design, create, and promote health education and marketing materials for distribution throughout Calhoun County using print and digital platforms.
Assist with Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) activities, including data collection, community engagement, meeting preparation, and event support.
Create and maintain new community resource pages and dashboards on the MiCalhoun website to improve public access to health and social service information.
Collaborate with staff and community partners on health promotion initiatives and special projects.
Support Issue Action Groups.
Support SUD Countywide.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Current graduate student pursuing a degree in Public Health, Health Education, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
Proficiency in Canva or willingness to learn graphic design software.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
