Job Summary/Objective:

The The Coordinating Council (TCC) - Comminity Health Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the efforts of TCC Leadership to enhance community health. This position is responsible for facilitating and coordinating workgroups focused on improving health and human services within the county. The TCC Lead collaborates with community agencies to track and address local health issues, assists in the development and implementation of programs, and ensures that initiatives are organized, action-oriented, and have clear goals and deliverables. Additionally, the TCC Lead facilitates issue action groups, engages local coalitions, and builds partnerships with public figures and organizations to drive community health improvements. Key responsibilities also include preparing reports, tracking progress, responding to requests from community agencies, and supporting the Director of Strategic Development in their efforts.

Essential Duties and Functions:

• Guide the Issue Action Groups (IAG) by setting clear objectives, expectations, and aligning activities with public health goals.
• Lead regular meetings, ensuring they are productive and focused on achieving key outcomes. Take meeting minutes and document progress.
• Encourage active participation from all members, ensuring diverse perspectives are considered.
• Act as the point of contact for internal and external communication among IAG members, stakeholders, and partners.
• Organize tasks, timelines, and deliverables among IAG members.
• Foster relationships with other organizations, agencies, or groups to enhance collaboration on public health initiatives.
• Oversee the allocation and use of resources (data, tools) to meet IAG goals.
• Design and implement strategies that align with the overall public health goals.
• Establish short-term and long-term goals and measurable outcomes for each IAG.
• Monitor the effectiveness of plans and adjust strategies as necessary.
• Use MiCalhoun tools to track progress against goals and timelines.
• Compile data and prepare reports on activities, achievements, and challenges for stakeholders, funders, and management.
• Assess the impact and effectiveness of the IAGs initiatives and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Build relationships with key community leaders, health professionals, and policy makers to ensure the IAG’s efforts are aligned with community
• Oversee the collection and analysis of data relevant to the public health issue being addressed.
• Keep track of emerging public health issues and ensure the IAG's activities are responsive to these trends.
• Use data to assess the success of interventions and make evidence-based recommendations.
• Ensure that IAG activities adhere to relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards (e.g., confidentiality.)
• Upload resources supplied by IAG partners into the MiCalhoun system. Create resources libraries for each group.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
