TCSEA Social Worker
Duties
Tri-County Special Education Association is looking for a School Social Worker to join our team to serve Blue Ridge District. School Social Workers provide a comprehensive set of School Social Work services including evaluations, recommendations, or interventions regarding the placement of children in educational programs or special education classes on behalf of students and families in Tri-County schools. The primary responsibilities of School Social Workers require assessment, intervention, understanding, and identification of resources for addressing the school-related social-emotional and behavioral needs of students and families. School Social Workers work directly with students and families but also work on behalf of students by providing collaborative problem solving and consultation services. All first year employees benefit from a year of mentorship. Four paid professional development days of the employees choice.
Qualifications
Hold a Professional Educator License with a School Support Personnel endorsement in School Social Work from the State of Illinois or the equivalent license.
Hold a masters degree or higher in School Social Work.
Must have a valid drivers license and access to a reliable insured vehicle.
Proficiency in counseling and in other functions that may be needed as supplements to examinations.
Ability to guard, maintain, and preserve confidential information.
Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
Ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
Ability to communicate with students, parents, and staff in an acceptable and courteous manner.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to work with students, teachers, education support personnel, building administrators, and the general public.
Ability to enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.
Additional qualifications as may be required by the Illinois State Board of Education.
Salary and Benefits
Per salary schedule depending upon experience and education.
IRS Annual Salary: $50,038 to $83,307 depending upon education and experience.
TRS contribution is board paid.
Individual health insurance is board paid.
