Position: ABE Teacher - Adult Learning GED/College Prep Instructor (Science)
Work Schedule: Evenings - 1 night per week, 5 hours total including prep (Thursday nights preferred)
Pay: $42.91/hour (BA) or $43.74/hour (MA) based on the teacher labor agreement

Qualifications:
- Valid MN K-12 teaching license
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage projects from conception to productive execution
- Adaptability to work in a team environment, flexibility, and proficiency in multiple teaching models
- Previous experience working with teens or adult learners in an interactive, results-orientated environment preferred
- Ability to adapt teaching methods based on students' strengths and weaknesses and prepare students to take the test to earn a high school equivalency credential
- Ability to be curious, flexible, and function well in a busy environment with high expectations for students and staff
- Digital literacy skills required, including integration of digital literacy into the student learning experience
Responsibilities:
- Lesson planning and instruction, monitoring student attendance, collaborating with other staff, and integrating technology into learning
- Align instruction to MN ABE Content Standards (CCRS, ACES/TIF, Northstar Digital Literacy)
- Analyze student needs and assess progress with CASAS assessments
- Use appropriate techniques for individual learning styles
- Provide for individual as well as group learning
- Responsible for record keeping for class and for accurately recording attendance, student progress, reasons for leaving the program
- Participate in staff meetings as assigned by coordinator
- Maintain levels of training criteria established by MDE ABE
