Woodbridge School District is accepting applications for a Teacher Academy Teacher at WHS. This is a full-time, 10-month, benefit-eligible teaching position.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Teacher Academy teacher is responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive instructional program designed to prepare high school students for careers in education. This position provides students with foundational knowledge of teaching practices, learning theory, and classroom management, while facilitating hands-on field experiences in partner schools. The instructor fosters students' professional growth, leadership skills, and commitment to the education profession.
In collaboration with school and district staff, the Teacher Academy teacher supports the development of a cohesive educator pipeline by aligning the high school program with district-level paraprofessional-to-teacher "Grow Your Own" initiatives. This role contributes to broader recruitment and retention efforts by preparing future educators and promoting student participation in state and local workforce development opportunities. The Teacher Academy teacher also works to establish, maintain, and expand partnerships with advisory committee members, including educators, higher education representatives, and other professionals who are experts in the field of education within the state. These partnerships help ensure the program remains relevant, aligned with current educational practices, and responsive to workforce needs.
The position requires strong instructional expertise, the ability to build and sustain partnerships, and a commitment to cultivating the next generation of effective educators.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:
This is a 10-month position based on a 188-day annual contract. Employees are expected to work 7.5 hours per day, consistent with the established school and district schedules. Responsibilities may include duties beyond instructional time, such as meetings, professional development, and school-related events. Employees are expected to maintain regular attendance, fulfill all assigned responsibilities, and demonstrate flexibility to meet the evolving needs of students, staff, and the district. This position may require additional workdays during the summer months beyond the standard school-year schedule.
