We are seeking a Teacher Aide to provide support to teachers and students primarily in grades 1st - 3rd. This position is Full or Part time and hours could be flexible if needed.
JOB PURPOSE: To help facilitate a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
PERFORMANCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Professional Classroom Community
Utilizes effective classroom management best practices and strategies guided by Gospel values
Creates a faith-filled environment that engages a wide range of teaching techniques to match the intellectual, emotional, and social level of each student, and chooses alternative teaching strategies and materials to achieve different curricular purposes
Organizes physical space for learning
Accepts accountability for each child's learning
Works with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher
Assists individual children in need of special attention as directed by teacher
Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the teacher
Assists the teacher with non-instructional classroom duties, such as snack, toilet, and clothing routines
Assists in center activities
Under supervision of licensed teacher, assists in preparing for classroom activities

Attends faculty and other meetings as called by the Principal
Attends Archdiocesan and other professional development activities as assigned by the Principal
Strives to be a lifelong learner while integrating new and deeper understanding of content to the position
Takes responsibility for professional growth

Reflects on practice
Supervisory Duties
Ensures the classroom is supervised at all times when students are present
Supervises the arrival and dismissal of students as directed by the schedule
Supervises students during the celebration of Mass and other liturgical celebrations and assemblies
Instills student responsibility while maintaining safety in the halls when going to and returning from specials classes, lunch, emergency drills, and assemblies.
Supervises, as the schedule directs, recess and lunch periods in the school day
Assumes responsibility for supervision of students when assigned by the Principal
Parents and Students Relations
Builds relationships with families which foster partnerships in the educational process and the life of the school
Serves as a role model for Gospel values for students and families
Professional Activities
Informs the Principal and other teachers affected of any plans that will differ from the typical daily schedule
Collaborates with other members of the staff when planning special programs/projects
Informs the Principal of situations that should be brought to his/her attention
