Job Summary
The Alternative Education Program Teacher is responsible for providing an instructional program in an alternative education classroom setting or Juvenile Hall for students enrolled in the continuation education program. The teacher serves as the educational leader for the classroom for students enrolled in grades 9-12. This position is under the direct supervision of the Alternative Education Principal. Possess a California Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in subjects that are appropriate for an alternative school setting. Hold appropriate certification for teaching English Language Learners. Recent training or experience in dealing with the educational needs associated with students in an alternative setting is highly desirable. Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) is highly desirable

Full-time position with employee medical and dental benefits available (includes spouse and dependent coverage). Employer contribution $19,500 (prorated based on start date). The San Benito County Office of Education provides an in-house induction program. This is a fully paid program for educators with preliminary credentials.
