Job Summary:

Waukesha East is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Alternative Education Teacher to join our school. Our school serves students who are navigating academic, social, or emotional obstacles within a traditional school setting. With a low student-to-teacher ratio and full assistant support, this position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a caring and nurturing learning environment.

Our program is designed to meet the diverse needs of our students by emphasizing grade-level academic learning standards, social skills, and problem-solving through authentic, hands-on experiences. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in helping students develop into their best selves and prepare for high school and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans and personalized learning plans
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with grade-level academic standards.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages personal and academic growth.
• Teach and model social and problem-solving skills through authentic learning experiences.
• Collaborate with support staff to ensure student success.
• Monitor and celebrate student achievements, both big and small, to build confidence and motivation.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with families and caregivers.
• Contribute to the positive school culture by participating in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide activities.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching license in Alternative Education.
• Strong commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work with a supportive team.
