Position: Teacher - Art/Graphic Design Art
Location: Gunning Bedford Middle School

Compensation:Refer to current teacher salary scale on District website
Work Year: 10 months
POSITION GOAL:
The Middle School Graphic Art Teacher will design and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction that develops students' artistic skills, creativity, and visual communication through traditional and digital media. The teacher will provide sequential learning experiences in areas such as the elements and principles of design, drawing, typography, digital illustration, photography, and graphic design processes while fostering an appreciation for diverse artistic styles and cultural influences. The teacher will create a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and self-expression. Through ongoing formative and summative assessments, the teacher will monitor student progress, provide targeted feedback, and differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners. In addition, the teacher will provide opportunities for students to apply artistic concepts through authentic projects, presentations, and exhibitions that showcase student achievement and promote connections between visual arts, technology, and real-world applications. The Middle School Graphic Art Teacher will collaborate with colleagues, communicate effectively with families, and engage in continuous professional learning to strengthen instructional practices and support the development of lifelong learners and creative thinkers.
