St. Edward-Epiphany Catholic School in Chesterfield, VA has an opening for an Art Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The Art Teacher is responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive visual arts program for students in Junior Kindergarten through 8th grade. This role fosters creativity and artistic expression while integrating faith, culture, and moral development into a positive, engaging classroom environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, organized, and respectful classroom environment
- Organize and support school-wide art events, exhibits, or showcases.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate art into cross-curricular projects.
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate art curriculum aligned with school and diocesan standards.
- Teach a variety of artistic techniques, media, and art history across grade levels.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
- Display student artwork throughout the school to celebrate creativity and achievement. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and grades.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Requirements
Qualifications- Valid teaching certification (or ability to obtain certification).
- Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students preferred.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
