Reports to Principal
Purpose To serve primarily as an instructional assistant and work with children. To support the Teacher in organizing and preparing instructional materials. To support the daily functions and activities of the classroom and school.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Serve primarily as an instructional assistant and spend the majority of time working with students. Assists the teacher in ensuring a safe and healthful environment. Enforce school and classroom rules and expectations consistently. Interacts effectively with students, teachers, administrators, co-workers, parents, and community. Conducts self as a role model exhibiting positive behavior. Work may consist of being assigned to work with a grade class or department and not assigned to a specific teacher and will be utilized based on the needs of the school. Will comply with all administrative directives in a timely and professional manner including written directives regarding specific issues or behaviors. Will exhibit punctuality and regular attendance. Demonstrates a strong work ethic. Maintains confidentiality. Performs other duties as assigned by the teacher and/or principal in a timely and professional manner.

BUS DRIVER
Reports to Principal
Purpose To safely transport children to and from assigned school
Qualifications

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain current bus licenses through required training. Drive a school bus safely and professionally. Maintain order and discipline of students assigned to the school bus in accordance with the School Board policies pertaining to discipline and school Code of Conduct. Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of a school bus. Bus must be cleaned and well maintained by driver. Mechanical problems must be reported immediately at the bus garage (704-639-3051). Accurately complete time sheets and submit these to designated principals on time each month. It is imperative that time sheets reflect accurately the time and people on each bus. Like all jobs paying substitutes is expensive and this benefit should be used when necessary due to illness. Will contact principal if any student is on the bus longer than an hour and fifteen minutes each way. The principal will work with the director of safety to determine the most efficient route time. Attempts will be made to shorten routes and lengthen school days in these cases.
