JOB GOALS:
To demonstrate the district's beliefs in order to help provide a safe and developmentally appropriate pre-kindergarten program for the children enrolled.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain current certification in CPR/First Aid
Possess physical ability to exit the children in a fire drill in under two minutes
Possess physical ability to lift and carry a Pre-K child
Adhere to the MS Early Learning Guidelines strictly
Ensure children are appropriately supervised at all times
Follow all emergency procedures strictly
Follow appropriate sanitary practices strictly
Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained, and safe at all times
Establish routines and provide positive guidance
Communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that children understand
Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program
Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible; act in alignment with the MS Educator Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct, and the district vision, mission, and beliefs
Demonstrate flexibility in regards to classroom assignment
Maintain a work record of dependable attendance
Arrive at work on time
Notify principal or designee if unable to report to work on time promptly
Dress appropriately
Maintain strict confidentiality of all records in accordance with, but not limited to, The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA)
Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude with other staff members
Maintain positive guidelines for children's classroom behavior
Provide developmentally appropriate experiences and activities for children including early literacy, mathematical concepts, scientific investigations, social and emotional development, and physical/motor skills
Maintain positive open lines of communication with parents/guardians
Demonstrate adequate knowledge of child development theory and best practices
Demonstrate understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and legislation pertinent to the child care center
Attend all staff development training meetings
Provide daycare before and after school as assigned
Perform other such duties and responsibilities as the Teacher, Principal and/or Designee may assign from time to time

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a classroom and office environment. This role requires interaction with children in the early learning classroom(s) daily.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
In accordance with the Teacher Aide Work Day Calendar and current salary schedule as approved by the Board of Trustees. Work hours may include evenings. Total Days: 187 EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of paraprofessional personnel.
