Primary responsibility is assisting teacher in implementing high quality early childhood programming for children and their families as detailed in the Head Start program performance standards. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining a safe classroom environment. Assistant teacher will assist in implementing positive guidance strategies to support the social and emotional development of children. Assistant Teacher will ensure healthy and safe practices for children. Assistant Teacher will engage families in the program to support child''s development and parent''s role as child''s first and most important educator. They will also assist in planning and implementing parent meetings, special programs and training events. Assistant Teachers will follow all guidelines and procedures outlined in the "Licensing Rules for Group Day Care Centers". Assistant Teachers will work with a lead teacher in a classroom of 15-18 children ages 3-5.
