Each day brings a new opportunity to inspire confidence, build important skills, and make a meaningful difference for a child and their family.What You'll DoAs a Teacher, you will:Plan and lead engaging, developmentally appropriate classroom activities.Help children strengthen cognitive, social-emotional, communication, and motor skills.Create a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment.Provide individualized support based on each child's developmental needs.Actively supervise children and promote their safety and well-being.Track children's progress and complete required classroom documentation.Collaborate with teacher assistants, therapists, nurses, families, and other team members.Celebrate each child's achievements and encourage continued growth.QualificationsEducation and CertificationA bachelor's degree is required, along with at least one of the following:Current Arkansas certification in Early Childhood Special EducationCurrent Child Development Associate (CDA) credentialAt least 12 completed college credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or child and family studies, along with documented experience working with children with special needsExperienceAt least one year of successful classroom experience working with children who have developmental delays or disabilities is preferred.An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.Skills and AbilitiesA genuine passion for teaching and supporting children with special needsAbility to communicate effectively and professionally with children, families, coworkers, and leadershipAbility to work with children from birth through age seven and families facing unique challengesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy, team-oriented environmentBasic computer skills, including familiarity with databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and internet-based programsAbility to understand and follow safety requirements, policies, procedures, and other company documentsAbility to prepare routine reports and correspondenceConfidence communicating with groups of families or employeesBasic math skillsSound judgment and practical problem-solving abilitiesYour Work Can Help Shape a Child's FutureAt MKSA/KULA, teaching is more than a job-it is an opportunity to create meaningful moments, encourage growth, and help children build skills that can last a lifetime.Bring your passion.
