Position Details
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have TWO of the following four requirements:
Certification as a teacher in the program area for which employment is sought
Master's Degree
A minimum of three years teaching experience, not less than two years of which are in Special Education
Michigan Department of Education Teacher Consultant Approval
Responsibility of employee to obtain and maintain all training(s), certificate(s), approval(s), etc. and provide documentation to the business office before expiration date of said document(s).
Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
Required to have a physical presence at the designated job site each scheduled work day.
Must have regular and reliable job attendance, performance and the physical ability to do the job.
Job Summary: Functions as a member of the multidisciplinary evaluation team, collects, analyzes, and interprets data and participates in the special education identification process. Collaborate with general education and special education teachers to develop and maintain academic programming for students with an Individualized Education Plan.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Technical Assistance and Support of Students with IEPs
B. Diagnostic Process
Participate in building meetings as requested by a local building within assigned districts.
Serve as MET Rep in public and/or non-public meetings as appropriate.
Serve as a member of IEP team as needed in local school districts.
Perform systematic direct observation of referred students.
Administer tests, which may include achievement, adaptive behavior, and/or criterion referenced and curriculum-based assessments and summarize the results of administered assessments.
Help in the development and review of accommodations for referred students.
Educational Planning
Help in the transfer-in process of students with IEPs, interpret reports in the CA60, and obtain needed reports.
Maintain necessary records and schedules, attend required meetings, and transport needed materials to and from buildings.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary for this position is based on the IEA Master Agreement
