Work Location IPoly High School (on the campus of Cal State Polytechnic University, Pomona) 3851 W Temple Avenue Pomona, CA 91768 The Los Angeles County Office of Education and International Polytechnic High School seek a well-qualified individual to serve as a dynamic, creative, and team-oriented Digital Media Broadcast teacher. Under the supervision and direction of the school site administration, the ideal candidate will work to best prepare students for college and career readiness. International Polytechnic High School provides a college preparatory curriculum within a project-based learning environment. The selected teacher will have the skills and experience to engage a diverse student population while embedding a wide array of skills beyond the content area. Students at International Polytechnic are challenged to think globally and act locally while nurturing communication, presentation, and group dynamic skills. Beyond being an expert in the field of digital media production, the ideal candidate will develop and deliver an engaging curriculum that teaches the creative and technical skills needed for the television, film, and broadcast journalism industries. They will masterfully guide students through the entire media production lifecycle-from pre-production planning and scripting, to operating professional-grade studio equipment, and finally executing live or recorded broadcasts. They will create a dynamic learning environment through hands-on activities, while also assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback. Additionally, they will stay current with industry advancements in digital media and broadcasting and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the multidisciplinary curriculum. Finally, having a background knowledge of the philosophy and practice of Project-Based Learning (PBL) is highly encouraged.

Qualifications • Must possess a valid California Designated Subjects CTE Credential in Arts, Media, and Entertainment. • Experience, knowledge or expertise in teaching Graphic Design. • English Learners (EL) Certification. • Aware of current trends in computer technology related to broadcast media and ability to implement technology throughout the curriculum. • Knowledge of safety procedures for lab-based classes. • Committed to working collaboratively with teaching staff. • Ability to teach reading and writing within the context of broadcast media. • Possesses a high regard for teacher and student accountability.
