SUBJECT: Teacher: Early Childhood Education - Chapter 74 - Systemwide
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
Teaching and supervision of students in the Early Childhood Education Technical Program. Instruction and planning to be in line with state frameworks,
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (to be included along with other responsibilities)
- The development and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and competencies.
- The planning, developing and integration of the department's curriculum where appropriate.
- Maintaining the preschool program with the teaching staff according to standards, philosophy.
- Facilitate the learning of high school students through live teaching in the laboratory preschool.
- Planning with the staff of the ECE program for the implementation of changes in the curriculum and or new developments in the program.
- Providing input in faculty/team performance evaluation of students at the end of each marking period for grading purposes.

- Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education
- MA DESE teacher license in Early Childhood Education 9-14, Chapter 74 or ability to
obtain within 1 year.
- MA Early Education and Care Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- SEI Endorsement
- Three years minimum successful experience as an early childhood instructor
- Curriculum development experience and knowledge of integration of technical competencies with the curriculum frameworks.
- Evidence of mastery of a wide variety of teacher competencies and the understanding of instructional techniques.
- Evidence of educational leadership
- Competent in computer applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced educational preparation.
- Evidence of educational leadership.
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.
- Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese or an African Language.
WORK YEAR: 185 days
SALARY: Salary scale shown is based on the candidate holding a Bachelor's Degree with the potential to increase dependent on the highest level of education.
