Salary Range: $48,703- $100,722 per year

Employment Terms: Full-Time, 10-Month

Bargaining Unit: NEW LONDON EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

Position Overview: Provides instruction and is responsible for student learning during a particular time period in English education; this includes developmental reading

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, standards-based English Language Arts instruction that develops students' reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and student-centered classroom that supports academic growth and a love of literacy.
  • Use assessment data to monitor progress, differentiate instruction, and provide timely feedback to students and families.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement curriculum, support school improvement goals, and promote student achievement.
  • Foster meaningful connections through culturally responsive teaching, effective classroom management, and strong partnerships with students, families, and the school community.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following endorsement areas: 015 or applicable

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
