Salary Range: $48,703- $100,722 per year

Employment Terms: Full-Time, 10-Month

Position Overview: Provides instruction and is responsible for elementary students during a particular time period in all core content subjects; cannot be sole provider of art, dance, health, music, physical education or theatre arts

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in core subject areas to support student learning and achievement.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student growth, respect, and social-emotional development.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, assessments, and observations, and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with colleagues to support student success and school goals.
  • Maintain accurate records, manage classroom behavior effectively, and ensure a safe and structured learning environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following areas: 001 (16), 002 (16), 003 (13), 004 (16), 005 (16), 006 (46), 013 (16), 113 (13), or 305 (16).

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
