Description

About Emeryville

Emeryville is a dynamic and compact city situated in the northwest corner of Alameda County, located between Oakland and Berkeley on the eastern shore of the San Francisco Bay. Incorporated in 1896, it has become a major economic hub, home to companies like Pixar, Peet's Coffee, and Clif Bar. With excellent freeway, Bay Bridge, and Amtrak access, it's a key transportation gateway. Emeryville's dense urban feel, diverse community, and mix of housing options make it a popular place to live and work in the Bay Area.

About the Department

The Emeryville Child Development Center (ECDC) has supported children and families since 1979. We provide safe, nurturing care in a culturally diverse setting and partner with parents as their child's first teacher. Our language-rich, play-based environment encourages exploration, growth, and joy. ECDC is a state-licensed, year-round program serving children ages twelve months to five years, and we're proud to be one of California's first city-run child development centers.
