Teacher - ESL - STEM K-8 (50% FTE)

The Waukesha STEM Academy is a kindergarten through eighth grade Personalized, Project-Based Learning school, where students are encouraged to think outside of the box and are given the opportunity to demonstrate their learning in many different ways. Students are supported in developing a sense of independence and intrinsic values, which enable them to become successful in life.

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time (50% FTE) ESL teacher (Spanish proficiency preferred) to join the K-8 team to grow practices for disciplinary literacy, and inquiry based learning. The dedicated professional in this role will join a department of colleagues who serve English language learners in the content area and through sheltered instruction. Ability to utilize data to meet individual student's needs as well as familiarity with the WIDA products.

• hold license 1395-English as a Second Language
• preferred but not required - possess fluency and literacy in Spanish and English
• believe in and promote lifelong bilingualism and biliteracy

• are highly collaborative and effective in co-teaching models STEM Program

This position is 50% ESL with 35-40% being at The Waukesha STEM Academy, with the remaining FTE working at one other site (TBD).
